Adsorption rates are easy to calculate once one has knowledge of phage titers and phage adsorption rate constants as well as, though not always as relevant, bacterial concentrations.Here a variety of calculations are solved including expected total number of adsorptions, expected average number of adsorptions per bacterium, and expected average number of adsorptions per bacterium per unit time. Calculations are made both assuming (less realistic) and not assuming (more realistic) phage virion replacement upon adsorption. The former is simpler but tends to be less accurate particularly given higher bacterial concentrations or longer durations over which adsorptions occur.
